Learn to play the piano
Curriculum for beginners

When students are just starting out, we follow the Suzuki Method and the Bastien Method as a guideline to develop a strong technical foundation. We start by familiarising students with the correct posture and finger placements. Then, students learn simple melodies to strengthen the coordination between both hands through a few easy pieces.

With each new piece, the students will learn a new technique. The syllabus is designed to teach newer techniques with small increments of difficulty to facilitate smooth, yet challenging progress for the student.

The Bastien Method presents concepts in a holistic way with lessons, theory, and technical pieces mixed with performance pieces. In the Suzuki method, the musical pieces are carefully selected to cover essential techniques. Each piece is a building block to equip students with the skills needed to play a variety of music.

After mastering the basics, students can choose whether to continue with the Suzuki method or learn another genre of music. Theoretical concepts like staff notations and scales are introduced once the student has sufficient command over their instrument.

This is a brief overview of the course and does not include the entire syllabus. For intermediate and advanced students, we pick up from what they already know. Reach out to us for details.
