Fundamentals of Music Composition is a practical approach to learning the theories, concepts, and methods used to create and compose music.
In the Fundamentals of Music Composition course, you will gain a strong understanding of music fundamentals. You will learn about the basics of harmony and touch upon Bach’s theory of harmony before moving on to a deeper dive into rhythm, structure, and musical textures.
The course explores the instruments and instrument families and you will dissect and then learn to plan the instrumentation of a composition. A deeper understanding of chords, chord progressions, musical phrases, and cadences will enable you to use them effectively in your own musical pieces.
You will learn about Indian classical music and the theories within it, and how you can use those regardless of the type of music you are working on. With this course, you will also understand notational systems and be able to effectively write your music for others.
